Slacks for Ella Funt

Obviously I’m not the target audience for this, but it’s one of the better YA boy-books I’ve read. Spud balances crude adolescent-boy humor with the indignities of growing up and puberty. Even more impressive, it works in more serious emotional issues and the end of apartheid in South Africa without being overly earnest or preachy.
